Does recalling an envelope use another envelope?
Recalling, editing, and resending the same envelope does not count as an additional envelope.
No — recalling an envelope, making your changes, and sending it again does not use another envelope from your plan. You're charged for the envelope once, when it's first sent, no matter how many times you recall and resend it.
How envelope usage is counted
An envelope counts towards your usage at the moment it is first sent. This is true even if the envelope is later declined, expires, or is never completed.
Recalling an envelope converts it back to a draft so you can correct details — a misspelt name, an incorrect price, a missing document — and send it again. Because it's still the same envelope, resending it does not count a second time.
See Recall an envelope for how recalling works and what you can edit after recipients have signed.
What about recalled envelopes I never resend?
Because usage is counted when the envelope is first sent, recalling an envelope doesn't return it to your allowance — even if you never resend it. If you've sent an envelope in error, recall it and resend the corrected version rather than starting again; the correction costs you nothing.
When does a new envelope get counted?
A new envelope is only counted when you send a new envelope — for example, if you delete a draft and prepare the document again from scratch, or send a separate envelope for the corrected version instead of recalling the original.
To keep your usage tidy, always prefer recall → edit → resend over creating a fresh envelope when you need to fix a mistake.
